The northern harbor island lies northeast of the old town of Stralsund and forms for the city the transition to the sound. Like a sort of Sund terrace, the artificially heaped up island in front of the old town lies with a free, completely unobstructed view of the vastness and the sound. The Hanseatic city of Stralsund plans to redesign the open spaces on the northern port island and to refurbish the banks (see overview map). In this context, a water-side multibeam bearing must be performed. The construction work is expected to begin in autumn 2020 near the edge of berth 6. The consortium AIU from Stralsund / WES from Berlin was commissioned with the planning of the outdoor facilities and engineering structures.
