On 31.12.2020, the current contract for hospitalization insurance for the employees of the municipality as well as the OCMW Maasmechelen expires and therefore the hospitalization insurance must be re-tendered.

For the contract 'Renewal insurance portfolio and related services 2020-2025', the hospitalization insurance lot was not awarded, as there was only one tenderer and the price-quality ratio was not considered optimal.

Since the contract for the remaining insurances of the insurance portfolio of both the municipality and the OCMW runs until 2025 and it is the intention to bundle all insurances in one public contract in the future, so it is opted for a possible extension for 2025.
