The city of Bochum intends to develop two new residential locations in the coming years under the project title "OSTPARK - new living". The new development areas will be divided into two independent districts, each of which will tie in with the existing development structure and will be connected to adjacent recreational areas via a central watercourse. One of the quarters is the Feldmark district to the west, which is being developed on the site of the former city nursery in Altenbochum. The project creates a socially mixed residential area with different forms of living and for all generations.

For the Feldmark district, the city of Bochum has developed a mobility concept for the realization of an auto-optional district. A central component of the concept is a neighborhood garage, which contains a significant proportion of the required private and public parking spaces.

A district garage with a gross volume of 18,850 m3 with 5 full storeys and a usable area of 4,840 m2 in system construction is planned.
