The town of Bad Salzuflen offers its guests and residents spa music through a spa orchestra. The orchestra bears the name Staatsbadorchester.

Spa music is an important part of the programme of events in Bad Salzuflen and is essential for the fulfilment of the spa conditions. For many decades, the orchestra has been playing in the concert hall, the Wandelhalle, in the open air in the spa gardens or at selected locations on special occasions in the city of Bad Salzuflen.

The performances of the spa orchestra follow a schedule that is divided as follows:

a) Cast:

- 1.4. to 31.10. Concerts in sextet line-up

- 1.1. to 31.3. and 1.11. to 31.12. Concerts in quartet line-up, but at least in trio line-up

(b) Instrument groups:

The sextet formation is basically composed of the following instrumentation:

- First violin

- Second violin

- First piano

- Second piano (keyboard)

- Cello

-Clarinet

The quartet and quartet orchestras. Trio formation is preferably composed of the following instrumentation:

- First violin

- Second violin

-Piano

-Clarinet

In coordination with the client, formations can be formed with changing instruments.

c) Playing times:

Two concerts a day, each lasting 90 minutes, in the morning and afternoon. Concerts are regularly free on Mondays. This does not apply to public holidays that fall on a Monday. Then the following Tuesday is off-duty.

Special Events

• Promotional events lasting 30 minutes are held on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in the period from May 1 to September 30 of the year. (e.g. singing in the park with 1 instrumentalist and 1 singer, music in the park 1 instrumentalist)

• Dance tea takes place once a month on Sundays with three musicians all year round. In the period from June to August, Tanztee takes place every 14 days. The duration is 90 minutes.

• Up to eight special concerts with eight musicians and one soloist, each lasting 90 minutes, are held annually (usually monthly from March to October). Timely scheduling takes place between the contracting parties.

The client reserves the right to change and reschedule the playing times within the framework of the agreed weekly playing time.

d) Venues:

The concerts take place in the premises provided by the city of Bad Salzuflen, depending on the weather also outdoors (concert hall, lobby, spa house, concert shell, spa park, places outside the spa in Bad Salzuflen). The rehearsals can take place in the rehearsal room of the concert hall after consultation with the client.
