Fimlab Laboratoriot Oy will put its operating area out to tender as a comprehensive service for a device suitable for respiratory tract infection analytics for point-of-care and quick analytics needs.

The device to be purchased shall be a professional point-of-care (POC) device based on nucleic acid detection. The device should be analyzed from a nasopharyngeal sample for influenza A and B virus, Respiratory syncytic virus RSV and SARS-CoV-2 virus. The total service includes access to the equipment, reagent cartridges, pipettes, control samples and other possible consumables (excluding sampling supplies that are not included in the purchase), user training of the equipment for laboratory managers, software updates for the device, maintenance and support service and other services specified in the invitation to tender.

It is estimated that a maximum of about 20 pieces of equipment will be needed at the beginning of the contract period (depending on the capacity of the device). During the contract period, more equipment can be purchased. The number of devices is an estimate and is not binding on the subscriber. All devices are delivered via Fimlab's point-of-care analytics to the places of use. Fimlab's point-of-care analytics maintains a register of devices and acts as a contact person between the users and the Supplier. An estimated 1000 patient samples per year are analyzed with one device. The annual consumption estimate of the tests is 20000 tests, if all 4 viruses can be analyzed on one test cartridge. The amount of consumption is an estimate and does not bind the subscriber.

The distribution of reagents, supplies and tests to treatment units takes place through the logistics operators of the wellbeing services counties or, in exceptional cases, as Fimlab's own purchase. The distributors are Nova Pharmacy in the wellbeing services county of Central Finland, a warehouse operator in the Päijät-Häme wellbeing services county, Tuomi Logistiikka (Lahdesjärvi) and Tuomi Logistiikka Hämeenlinna. The Ostrobothnia warehouse can join as a distributor during the contract period.

This is an agreement between Fimlab Laboratoriot Oy and one supplier.

The estimated starting date of the agreement is 15.11.2023.
