The Sustainable Destination labelling scheme is a service provided by Innovation Norway to Norwegian destinations, i.e. places that are organised around the development and promotion of their tourism.
The labelling scheme contains specific tools and a framework aimed at the tourism industry's efforts to increase sustainability. The tool and framework will strengthen destination management by bringing together the destination company and the municipality, voluntary organisations and other stakeholders in a joint development process. Through the process, specific goals are being formulated, various measures are being implemented, and measurements and analyses are being carried out and compiled in a documented response. The response forms the basis for review via independent inspection.
It is for this inspection function that Innovation Norway is now seeking a tenderer.
The estimated annual value of the agreement is approx. NOK 600,000. The maximum value of the contract is NOK 3.2 million. The framework agreement will have exhausted its effect when the framework agreement's total value has been reached.
The value of the contract is determined by the number of inspections per year. All destinations in the labelling scheme carry out an inspection every three years, and Innovation Norway sets the price framework for the inspection together with the supplier.
Innovation Norway covers the tenderer's start-up costs in relation to training, recruitment and routine review.
Subject to budget changes and that the company’s priorities can influence the competition implementation and the contract conditions. A different provider can be engaged if the contracting authority requires this.
More information on the agreement is given in Annex 2, Requirements Specification.
