The (FINCH) Faecal incontinence and constipation health care at Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust is an award winning service both locally and nationally. It comprises of 2 colorectal consultants, 3 Clinical nurse specialists, 2 surgical care practitioners and a team secretary.

Research and audit function of the service has become more developed over the last years. We believe it is imperative to not only market our service but also to identify how our services are cost effective and efficient at meeting the needs of our local population; and support the Trust in achieving waiting time standards.

We are currently seeking sponsorship due to service expansion and demand. We are seeking annual funds in the region of 100 000 GBP per annum (and above) with additional added value fund for a contract period of 4 years.

Established in 2009 for patients suffering with bowel dysfunction. The FINCH service offers assessment, investigations and treatments. A patient’s centred service has always been the primary focus when establishing a gold standard nurse led service. FINCH has 2 highly experience colorectal consultant sponsors; both specialising in pelvic floor disorders a 3rd Consultant has been appointed commencing in 2018. FINCH is the sole service for the Sandwell and West Birmingham population of 500 000. September 2017 sees additional satellite clinics in the Dudley area as part of the Black Country Alliance reaching out to over 1 100 000 population.
