The Schwefelbadplatz and Castelplatz are important inner-city transport hubs in the political municipality of Sargans. The connection between the districts north and south of the railway line is called Jordan. The two transport hubs and the Jordan River have significant deficits, especially for non-motorised traffic. With the tendered project, the entire road infrastructure in this area will be redesigned. Above all, the offers for non-motorized traffic and the safety of the way to school at the two transport hubs as well as the connection via the railway lines are to be significantly improved. The new construction of the SBB bridge is not part of the present project.
