OUS would like to procure a 'high-end' ultrasound apparatus for the Women´s Clinic, Department for Foster Medicine, Rikshospitalet. The ultrasound apparatus will primarily be used by doctors at the Department for Foster Medicine. The apparatus shall be used for advanced prenatal diagnostics / foster medicine. The department is a regional centre for diagnostics and follow-up of pregnancies with foster deviations / deformities and it receives complicated diagnostic problems from all of Helse Sør Øst. We have a de facto multi-regional function and land function within pregnancies that require neonatal surgery and neonatal heart surgery. The apparatus must fulfil the requirements for reviewing small structures, e.g. in foster hearts. The apparatus must have very good Doppler facilities, including calculations of relevant circulatory parameters. The apparatus will also be used for examining fosters with pronounced weight restriction and pregnant women with considerable adiposity (i.e. good penetrance).
