Description:
The Design and Replacement or Modification of External Unitised Cladding System Including Associated Supporting Framework, Bracketry, Fire-Stopping and Other Related Sundries at The Royal Liverpool Un

The Royal Liverpool University Hospital Project (the ‘Project’) is a new hospital building comprising 646 beds, including a 40-bed critical care unit, 18 operating theatres and one of the largest emergency departments in the North West of England and a Clinical Sciences Support Building (CSSB) to assist in the functioning of the new hospital. It is situated close to the end of the M62 on the outskirts of the city centre.

The unitised cladding remedial and/or replacement works are challenging and requires engineering skill, attention to detail with a high degree of focus on quality of installation and finish. The works will be undertaken to areas of the Project where the internal aspects of the building have either been completed or in the process of being completed by others. Consequently, any unitised cladding remedial and/or replacement work forming the external envelope must be undertaken with full consideration and a respect for the internal services and finishes. Whilst the Project is not yet operational as a ‘live hospital’ it is nevertheless operational as ‘live construction project with live M&E Services’ requiring a respect and consideration of other people or organisations who will be working there.
