Due to the ongoing pandemic, exceptional situation, new legal requirements are constantly being placed on the cantonal administrative units, in particular the cantonal police, as part of health and safety considerations.

The cantonal police of Bern must assume that if measures against COVID-19 and their mutated variants are further tightened, the wearing of an FFP2 face mask by the legislator could be required. The cantonal police do not have sufficient stock of FFP2 face masks to equip the whole corps with it. Offers for KN95 masks will be excluded from the competition.
