NWTC wish to implement a contract to provide phaco emulsification machines with associated handpieces, cassettes and MICS needles. For clarity, no other consumables i.e. drapes, syringes, swabs, etc. form part of this procurement exercise.
NWTC Board will consider this option to purchase a maximum of seven phacoemulsification machines with associated handpieces, cassettes and MICS needles.
The initial requirement is for equipment to support four theatres with a possible fifth and sixth theatre being added within the lifecycle of this contract.
Also it would be expected that we would have one spare unit for possible equipment failures and issues.
NWTC Board are seeking a provider of phaco emulsification machines with handpieces cassettes and MICS needles. It is anticipated that a total of seven machines will be required with the associated consumables listed above. The current situation within the Board is machines and handpieces are provided free on loan for the duration of the contract and associated consumables are purchased. The Board may consider this arrangement again or consider purchasing machines and handpieces/cassettes/MICS needles via capital expenditure (Lot 1) should this prove to be more economically advantageous. Detailed information is provided within the specification documents.
