The Trust is seeking to establish a total managed bed and mattress service with a third-party provider for the supply, management and maintenance of its bed and pressure relieving equipment.
The scope and form of such involvement will be defined during the dialogue phases and the Trust is open to solutions in line with any guidance provided herein.
Bidders are to review the requirements set out in the specification and put forward solutions to meet these. The requirements are still high level as the Trust is keen to encourage bidders to develop their own ideas and scope for the service.
The scope put forward by the Trust is designed to put in place a service covering, among other things:
(a) supply of standard and specialist beds and associated equipment;
(b) on-site maintenance and decontamination of all equipment, including the trust owned equipment;
(c) automated ordering and product tracking through an IT solution;
(d) on-site support and training throughout the contract period.

— general patient beds,
— bariatric beds,
— ultra low beds,
— trolleys (including A&E, theatre and cath lab),
— cots,
— cribs and bassinettes,
— foam static mattresses,
— mattress covers,
— pressure relieving mattresses and cushions,
— crash mats,
— mobile hoists,
— drip stands (attached to beds).
(b) on-site maintenance and decontamination of all equipment, including the trust owned equipment;
(c) automated ordering and product tracking through an IT solution;
(d) on-site support and training throughout the contract period;
(e) the trust will transfer its assets identified in the inventory for this project to the new provider and novate the contracts for those assets which are under lease.

2) Completion of ISOS (Invitation to Submit Outline Solution).
