Implementation of the Hospital Future Act - FTB 3 - Lot 7 Network Storage

Delivery Components Hardware Network Storage

The Marienstift Arnstadt is planning comprehensive digital modernization measures within the framework of the funding opportunities of the Hospital Future Act and the Hospital Future Fund.

The aim of these measures is to bring IT security up to date and to use the means available to promote the permanent further development of IT security. The basis of these IT security measures is the existing IT security concept.

The following figure shows the current server infrastructure. The Klinikum Marienstift Arnstadt operates two separate data centers on the hospital grounds. The hardware shown here is redundant in these two data centers. The data centers have the following equipment relevant to the technology:

-Redundant power supply in the cabinets

-19" Serverschränke

-There is sufficient fiber optic capacity between the two data centers

Single mode and multimode OM5. The distance is about 150 m.

-There is a patch panel in the 19 inch cabinets in the data centers. In the case of too

installing network cabling, the wiring between the cabinets

and data centers.

- Redundant air conditioning

- In the future, 4 VMware ESX hosts with VMware vSphere per data center will be

operated.

In order to maintain the functionality of the hospital, measures are developed, documented, implemented and tested in the sense of emergency preparedness in order to have no or only minor impairments in the event of malfunctions and security incidents. For this purpose, the redundancy of the (storage) systems is achieved by setting up additional systems, setting up mirrors, using virtual systems and setting up these systems in other fire compartments or locations. The failure of a complete data center must be intercepted without administrative intervention. The restart of a data center is achieved by switching on the components in a predetermined order. Reflections are automatically re-established.

For this reason, the hospital intends to procure network storage within the framework of funding element 3 of the Hospital Future Act and within the framework of this tender. New storage capacities, including the associated SAN network, are to be set up in both data centers of the Marienstift Arnstadt Hospital. The net capacity is said to be 66TB.
