The Contracting Authority is seeking to appoint an appropriately experienced and qualified supplier to maintain the Department for Transport's UK Roadside Automatic Traffic Counting Equipment. The UK's Automatic Traffic Counting Equipment consists of in-road and associated roadside recording and communication equipment located at 296 locations throughout the UK. The equipment continuously classifies and records information from all lanes of vehicle traffic by means of an inductive loop and two axle sensors or 2 square inductive loops installed in each lane.

The contract period shall be from August 2012 and last for a period of 24 months with options for extension by two further periods each of up to 12 months.
