The purpose of the procurement is to meet the contracting authority's need for medical consumables during the agreement period. Namsos, Overhalla, Namdalseid, Fosnes, Grong, Høylandet, Namsskogan, Røyrvik, Nærøy, Vikna, Leka, Lierne and Flatanger municipalities are the contracting authority. The tender contest is implemented as a joint tender where identical agreements shall be signed with the selected supplier and the various contract owners.
The objective of the procurement is to cover the participating municipalities total requirements for medical consumables after the current contract expires on 15 January 2018. The contracting authority wants flexibility in selecting products during the agreement period. I.a. some municipalities may chose product of a higher quality but are most favourable in relation to the total economy. The intention is not to establish a standardised assortment for the municipalities that are included in the agreement but to give each municipality the option to standardise its own assortment in accordance with requirements and preferences.

— Medical consumables,

— Personal hygiene/skin care,
— Contagion protection equipment,
— Ostomy,
— Wounds, bandages and compression materials.
