Development of measures for better accessibility

of the city centre by bike (Fahrradstadt Wittmund).

The concept to be developed should therefore include the following aspects in particular:

a) The concept should set ambitious goals that take into account the requirements of climate protection, the reduction of traffic load, the increase of traffic safety and the improvement of the quality of stay and the appearance of the city center of Wittmund and its accessibility. In addition, the concept should show which measurable effects can be achieved if the proposed measures developed in this concept are implemented.

b) On this basis, a cycling network must be developed which enables safe, low-detour and comfortable routes.

Subsequently, a prioritized overview of measures and financing (action plan) is to be created. This is intended to provide information on the time, personnel and financial expenditure of the measures developed, to structure them according to short-term implementable impulses and long-term key projects and to point out concrete funding opportunities that can be used by the city of Wittmund.
