The ZV NVR awards SPNV services for the RB 20 in accordance with public procurement law in a competition procedure in accordance with the provisions of the GWB and the VgV. The RB 20 has the route: Stolberg main station - Alsdorf - Herzogenrath - Aachen - Stolberg main station - Eschweiler - Weisweiler - Langerwehe / Düren or Stolberg old town. The service volume amounts to: approx. 1.5 million train-km / a (without network extension). Network extensions to Baesweiler and Breinig are planned.

The subject of this award is transport services in the SPNV within the area of responsibility of the SPNV authority on the basis of a gross traffic contract.

The services are to be provided on the euregiobahn (RB 20) and in particular on the following sections of the line:

- Herzogenrath - Alsdorf-Annapark - Stolberg Main Station (KBS) 482),

- Stolberg main station - Eschweiler-Weisweiler - Langerwehe (KBS 482),

- Langerwehe - Düren (KBS 480, 482),

- Stolberg central station - Stolberg-Altstadt (KBS 482),

- Herzogenrath - Aachen Hbf - Stolberg Hbf (KBS 480, 482, 485).

The services cover around 1.5 million train-kilometers per standard year. The start of operations of the Euregiobahn (RB 20) has to be completed in full on the international timetable change on 12.12.2021. The operation ends at the international timetable change in the year 2025, presumably on 13.12.2025. There is the option of shortening the operating time once by one year. There is also the option of a one-year extension option.
