The municipality of Hillegom is making a start on the development of part of Hillegom-Noord. Based on the Hillegom Noord Master Plan, adopted by the city council in May 2013, a transition to fewer businesses and more housing is planned for Hillegom Noord. The construction program for the location of the former football pitches in Hillegom-Noord comprises 136 cheap owner-occupied homes, supplemented by a number of free-sector owner-occupied homes to be determined.
