In 2015, and in support of international cooperation activities, the Agency launched an exceptional negotiated procedure EASA.2015.HVP.24 to secure a contract partner to provide high quality services on behalf of the Agency for the benefit of the EU-China Aviation partnership project.
As a result framework contract (FWC) EASA.2015.FC45 was concluded with the European Chamber of Commerce in China (EUCCC) for 4 500 000 EUR on 27.1.2016.
Due to their unique position to represent and include European industry, and in order to benefit from the support and contributions of industry in the context of the project, the EUCCC (through this FWC) has proven to be an instrumental tool in ensuring the implementation of the EU-China Aviation partnership project assigned to the Agency by the European Commission (EC).
To ensure continuity of the support until the end of the project the contract budget ceiling needs to be increased by means of a contract amendment.
The project will support the safe and sustained development of aviation in this fast growing region. This intent is met by repeated calls from European industry for a stronger presence of a united Europe, to promote our Aviation expertise. The EU-China APP will be funded by the Commission service for Foreign policy instruments (FPI) through the newly established Partnership instrument, a tool established by the European Parliament and Council in 2014 to promote EU interest with important partner countries and regions.
