The Street and Green Areas unit of the Department of Technology and Environment of the Municipality of Sipoo takes care of green care and maintenance work, official decisions delegated to its powers related to street maintenance and sanitation, and street and implementation plans and construction of streets and green areas in investment projects.
In accordance with the municipality's investment plan, several investment projects in the Nikkilä, Söderkulla and Talma zoning areas will be targeted for the coming year 2023, in which the unit is responsible for project management and steering of street and building design.
The content of the assignment is described in more detail below.
The street and building design of the town plan area east of T6 Taasjärvi includes, for example, the following sub-areas:
- Street and building design of collector streets
- Street and building design of residential plot streets
- Implementation design of the bridge and other skill structures
- Programming of supplementary ground surveys and measurements and preparation of a terrain model
- Preparation of competitive tendering for off-road work
- Geoengineering required for building design
- Stormwater design incl. Review of delay structure solutions
- Water supply implementation planning
The purpose of street and building design is to draw up a town plan proposal/a valid town plan and the
on the basis of the municipal engineering master plan, the street and building plans for the streets and layout structures in the town plan (and
in the case of streets, parks and separate water supply lines, water supply construction plans with ground building design).
Content requirements for the street plan
The street plan must indicate the principles of traffic arrangements, drainage and rainwater management, street elevation and
covering material, as well as plantings and permanent structures and equipment.
Content and presentation of the street plan
Street design includes the design of the horizontal and vertical geometry of the street, the street cross section and the street environment, as well as
design of traffic control, drainage, lighting and structures. The design is based on the town plan of the street
design of the horizontal and vertical geometry of the alignment based on the municipal engineering master plan. In the design of vertical geometry
should take into account the environmental and street heights associated with the street area, as well as the requirements for street drainage. Street and
The building plans plan details the following areas: roadway and pedestrian and cycle paths, green areas and
plantings, street pavement, curbs and paving stones, ditches and drainage ditches, as well as parking spaces, stops and other possible
spreads. In addition, street design involves the design of skill structures, for example, for retaining walls and a bridge.
The street and building plan is presented in the form of maps and cross-sectional and longitudinal drawings (scales are agreed
no later than the kick-off meeting). Water supply plans are presented either in one of the plans for street structures or if it is not
not possible or functional, then as separate plans for water supply.
The documents to be handed over to the client must include, among other things:
- Plan maps, scale 1:500 or 1:200
- Type cross-sections, scale 1:50 or 1:100
- Longitudinal cuts, scale 1:1000/1:100
- Plans for structures such as a retaining wall, bridge, noise railing or fence, with the accuracy of a general drawing showing the accuracy of the structures
location, type of structure, main dimensions, materials and appearance
- Schedule of phasing of implementation and completion date
- Updating the cost estimate iteratively as the design progresses
- Plan for possible exceptional arrangements for traffic during construction
- Building a data model
- Water management plans (see Annex 2)
The target schedule for the draft street plans is by the end of November 2023. The target schedule for water supply plans and other construction plans is by the end of April 2024.
