WP3645 - Alternative Education

Walsall Council is looking to commission the provision of Alternative Education to young people up to age 16 and a small number post 16 under a framework contract. The service deliver a range of alternative approaches to providing access to education for young people who are excluded or at risk of exclusion, at risk of disengaging from mainstream school provision or otherwise require alternative education provision to meet their educational entitlement. The duration of the framework will be for 4 years with the option to extend up to 48 months.


Academic

WP3645 Walsall Council invites applications from suppliers for the provision of alternative education. Applications to the framework is via an electronic process using the council’s e-tendering system. The duration of the framework will be 4 years with the option to extend up to 48 months. The procurement process being used is an open tender process under the Light Touch Regime (PCR 2015 74-77). The framework is split into 10 LOTS. Lot 1 Academic, Lot 2 Hair and Beauty, Lot 3 Sport, Lot 4 Catering, Lot 5 Construction, Lot 6 Retail, Lot 7 Animal Care, Lot 8 Health and Social Care, Lot 9 Media and Lot 10 Any other course. The procedure the Council has designed is that during the term of this framework agreement, the Council reserves the right to reopen the framework agreement for applications from new providers. This will be exercised where appropriate, for example, if additional capacity is required to meet the alternative education needs.
