The university town of Tübingen intends to build a new 2-speed primary school for the Köstlinschule on Wilhelmstraße in Tübingen. For this purpose, the corresponding school rooms, a canteen with kitchen and a gymnastics hall are to be planned. The new construction of the 2-speed primary school will cover the need for another primary school train in this school district in Tübingen. The Köstlinschule is attended as an all-day school by up to about 220 children. School social work, school child care and (increasingly in recent years) inclusion are standard in Tübingen schools. When redesigning, the pedagogical and organizational requirements must be taken into account accordingly. The new building is to be occupied in the school year 2025/26.

The special feature of the task lies in the urban integration into the spatial structure of the adjacent development, especially the music school located on the same property, in connection with an appropriate presence and address formation on Wilhelmstraße, which serves as an important access road to the core city of Tübingen.

The aim of this implementation competition is a high-quality, economical and sustainable building for this location, which responds appropriately and in high quality to the respective urban, functional and economic requirements.
