The market development programme of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWK) is intended to make it easier for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), the self-employed in the commercial sector as well as subject-related liberal professions and business-related service providers with business operations in Germany to enter new markets and to lead to further success of export activities.
The subject of the service is the implementation of a project to support companies in participating in United Nations (UN) tenders. On the one hand, decision-makers should be informed about the performance of the German industry in general and the participating companies in particular and contribute to the dissemination of specialist information. On the other hand, German companies are to be informed about the business opportunities and the procedure of UN procurement and motivated to register with the UN Global Marketplace (UNGM).
During a three- to four-day trip, decision-makers from various UN organisations will be able to find out about the technologies and know-how of German providers. Among other things, a guided visit to an industry-specific trade and leading trade fair serves this purpose. The representatives of the UN will visit the stands of pre-selected German companies and will also have the opportunity to visit the trade fair free of charge. A further element is variedly designed and moderated subject-specific round tables/workshops in order to provide interested decision-makers with concrete technical information about the German market and the respective industry through experts and multipliers or to provide the German participants with practical information on the procurement of the United Nations (and, if applicable, other international organisations). In addition, visits to reference projects can be integrated into the program by arrangement. (see guide)
