Central Procurement Directorate (CPD) on behalf of its Client, the Department for Regional Development (DRD) (hereafter referred to as the ‘Client') requires a competent ship-builder(s) (either directly or via a managing agent) to design and construct one new ro-ro ferry to operate between Ballycastle and Rathlin Island.

The ferry service is a lifeline for Rathlin Islanders and a critical part of its ability to attract visitors. The Department will use the new passenger/vehicle ferry to replace the current vehicle/passenger ferry which operates between Ballycastle and Rathlin Island.
