In the course of the B-Plan procedure 25/18 Bochumer Landstraße/Sachsenring, the city of Essen is planning the conversion and partial sale of an area on the corner of Bochumer Landstraße/Sachsenring.

A shopping centre with office and residential space as well as an underground car park is to be built on the site.

In the course of the redesign, the widened expansion of the Sachsenring and the Bochumer Landstraße, as well as the creation of a new service road as a replacement for the access road of some residents via Hellweg, which will be eliminated due to the future development, is also planned.

Before the start of the redesign, soil contamination must be remediated, which was detected during exploratory work.

This is the area of a former petrol station, which is located on the suspected contaminated site 45/5.02 in the triangle between Bochumer Landstraße, Sachsenring and Hellweg
