There is great focus on safety in Project New National Museum One of the effect orientated goals of the project is:
‘The new building shall be such that the museum can keep its collections in a responsible museum way, where damages/deterioration due to constructional conditions shall be reduced to 0’. This has in turn led to a large focus on the inside climate and to ensuring that the art shall not be water damaged. This is also reflected in the pipe installations.
The building has a refrigeration centre on the 1
Some of the pipe systems that are outdoors and in the bottom plate will be executed before K301 is contracted.
The extent of sanitary equipment in K301 is relatively small, apart from in the workshop areas, where, amongst other things, art is preserved. Some sanitary equipment is delivered by another contractor.
K301 shall deliver sprinkler installations for approx. 54 700 m
K301 shall deliver pressurised air installations. Pressurised air shall be delivered to several workshops as well as the sprinkler installations.
The building has 2 refrigerating systems with free refrigeration with seawater and refrigerating machines. The building's total cooling requirement is approx. 3 000 kW. There is little local cooling in the building as the refrigerating requirement to a large degree is covered by air-cooling.
The condenser heating from the refrigerating machines shall be used in the building's heating plant, as well as for snow melting of outdoor areas. The seawater is used during the winter and work as a heating source for the refrigerating machines in heating modus and for dumping surplus heat from the condensers. District heating is used as peak load for the heating plant. As a back-up for the seawater, network water shall be used for dumping the condenser heating. The total heating requirement for the building is 2 250 kW, in addition to approx. 400 kW snow melting. Heat distribution mostly occurs with ventilation air, but there is also approx. 1 760 m
K301 shall provide all the heating and cooling installations apart from refrigeration machines/heat pumps (K3021 Refrigeration Machines) and seawater intake/emission from a manhole outside the building (the seawater intake) and out into the sea.
The building has more than 40 balanced ventilation systems and the total volume of treated air is more than 600 000 m
