The project goal of the Princess Alexia viaduct project is to realize a level crossing between the Maasvlakteweg and the Mekongweg and a connection to the existing Maximaweg, in order to guarantee a safe and smooth handling of traffic to and from the Alexiahaven area.

The Princess Alexia viaduct project concerns the design and realisation of an uneven intersection of the Maasvlakteweg - Mekongweg junction. On the west side, the junction connects to the existing Maximaweg, and on the east side to the Mekongweg. The junction is connected to the Maasvlakteweg by means of entrances and exits. The node crosses successively (from west to east) the following existing and/or future infrastructure:

• Industrial piping strip;

• Maasvlakteweg;

• Nutsleidingstrook;

• Port track (2 tracks);

• Reservation 3rd track;

• CER (Container Exchange Route).
