The content of the tender documents is the expansion of the southern part of the Wedtlenstedt holding. The expansion section starts at SKS-km 7.010 and extends to SKS-km 9.620 in the south. The lower outer harbour of the Wedtlenstedt lock starts at SKS-km 9,650. The canal will be deepened to a water depth of 4 m (base height NHN +70.00 m) below the lower operating water level and at the same time widened by interventions in the eastern embankments. The axis of the sewer cross-section swivels by 1.4 m to the east. The embankments are to be secured with a rubble stone revetment; the bottom of the canal remains unfastened. The bottom and embankments are not sealed. The western service route will be renewed along its entire length. The eastern operating route will be partially rebuilt in a new location. On an approx. 1.6 km long section, the eastern operating route will be omitted and replaced by a paved berm. The interventions in the embankments require the adaptation or partial demolition and new construction of the existing discharge structures.
In the eastern service route, a fibre optic cable for remote control of the Üfingen lock is to be laid in cable conduits over the entire length of the Wedtlenstedt Süd stop. The connection to the existing building takes place at the beginning and end of construction on the east side.
A drinking water pipeline runs south of bridge no. 486 in the eastern service road, which is to be dismantled and restored in a new location.
A temporary transshipment point is to be set up at the "Schwarzepfuhl" deposit area.
In order to intercept the service route, bank walls are to be installed under the three bridges of the Wedtlenstedt Süd holding, which are to be anchored back to the eastern bank.
The service road access roads on the west side are to be adapted to the service route in the transition area. On the east side of the canal, two service access roads are to be rebuilt. In the future, there will be no access road to the east of the company. Their surface reinforcement and drainage are to be dismantled.
In addition, road construction work is to be carried out on a farm road south of bridge no. 486.
