Development of a second production line for the Longevity Project BR 481 for the S-Bahn Berlin.

Production of the longevity of the vehicles of the BR 481 of the S-Bahn Berlin on a factory production line. After handover of the vehicles in Berlin, extensive redesign and retrofitting measures are to be carried out in accordance with the service description and the vehicle is to be handed over in operational condition after commissioning in its own factory (750 V DC voltage in the Berlin S-Bahn network). A prototype is to be converted this year (2020). The standard conversion is to be carried out from 2021 with a frequency of approx. 10 vehicles per year until the end of 2024 (the conversion of approx. 40 vehicles (car bodies) is planned). Possibly. Depending on the order situation, the task holder can extend the order to a reasonable extent by agreement. As a rule, only one vehicle can be made available for conversion by the S-Bahn Berlin.

The essential conversion measures are: complete dismantling; Refurbishment of car body and substructure including cross / side members; Renovation of floors and seating areas; Installation of video surveillance; Interior / exterior painting; Refurbishing / renewing inner workings; Upgrade control technology + PLC exchange; Production of operational readiness (IBS). The other services to be performed are detailed in the tender documents.

The parts supply should be carried out independently. Vehicle-specific parts can be procured in cooperation with the S-Bahn Berlin.
