SFM is a medicine module that facilitates the sharing of information on medicines between different patient journal systems. SFM is important for the implementation of the patient's medicine list (PLL) nationwide and to ensure quality in prescriptions. Amongst other things, SFM has functionality for prescribing ePrescriptions, eMultidose, and sending and receiving PLL. In the long term, SFM will enable 'all' requisitioners to use ePrescriptions and give relevant health personnel access to the patient's medicine list. Health personnel that use SFM get a uniform user interface independent of which journal system they use.
