Replacement new studio building - Hochschule für Bildende Künste (HBK) Braunschweig
Planning performance
Specialist planning - technical equipment (ELT) according to § 53ff HOAI 2021,
here KG 440 & 450,
Performance phase (LPH) 2 to 8,
Stepwise commissioning, i.e. initially LS 1 corresponds to LPH 2 & 3
The state of Lower Saxony intends to build a new studio building for HBK.
A central goal of HBK's structural development is to create a needs-based, spatial and organisational context at two locations that are only a few minutes' walk away from each other. The new building on the immediately adjacent property to the campus will condense the spatial gap between the two locations and strengthen the idea of the campus university.
The aim is to design the new building as a robust and intelligently designed functional building using sustainable building materials and energy-efficient construction. The focus is on balancing ecological, economic, social and aesthetic concerns. The new building is intended to serve as a role model for the public sector. As a public institution, it must meet the extensive requirements of accessibility and the appreciation of diversity.
The replacement building will house four class studios for the Fine Arts course and the associated special workplaces. The studios must be suitable for work and teaching as well as for exhibition situations. They represent large, spatially as variably designable, hall-like rooms with sufficient ceiling height and special lighting and ventilation as well as good room acoustics, which should be adapted to the requirements of the various specialist classes.
The upper cost limit for the construction project is EUR 13,060,000 gross. The mentioned costs include the cost groups 200 to 600 according to DIN 276-1:2008-12 .
Investment groups of the tender/contract: Electrical Engineering (ELT)
1.1.4 / KG 440 Electrical installations
For use, a suitable artificial general lighting (color-temperature change, switchable and dimmable) is realized. This is to be done exclusively through the use of LED lights.
As with the space heating surfaces, an installation that is as inconspicuous as possible is required for the electrical installation.
Furthermore, the studios are used for exhibitions. Therefore, it is necessary that the lighting can be adjusted according to the situation. The lighting must therefore be flexibly adaptable to the current room concept.
A photovoltaic system is planned for the studio building. The minimization of primary energy requirements and the use of renewable energies for heating, cooling and power generation on site are an integral part of the energy concept from an economic and ecological point of view.
The requirements of the Act on the Development of a Building-Integrated Charging and Cable Infrastructure for Electric Mobility (GEIG) must be complied with. Estimated costs approx. 1,000,000.00 EUR gross.
1.1.5 / KG 450 Communication, security and information technology systems
The studio building to be constructed requires a necessary fire protection infrastructure for property protection/personal protection, e.g. an automatic BMA connected to the fire brigade or an in-house alarm system).
After consultation with the user, necessary relevant security devices, e.g. against theft / emergency prevention, must be provided. Estimated costs approx. 1.200.000,00 EUR gross.
