Metropolitan Area Urban Transport Ltd (Kaupunkiliikenne Oy) will organise a tender for the wheel lathe and wheel measuring device and its installation to be procured for the Ruskeasuo tram depot to the extent specified in the tender documents.

The object of the procurement is a wheel lathe to be procured for the Ruskeasuo tram depot and a wheel measuring device for the maintenance and repair turning of tram wheels to the extent specified in the tender documents. The purchase includes a wheel lathe and a wheel measuring device with peripheral systems, installed and ready for use.

The target of the procurement is 1 sub-track wheel lathe with its peripheral systems and 1 ride-on automatic measuring station for tram wheels with additional systems

Fully finished with all the work installed. At the time of commissioning, the wheel lathe will be used to turn the wheels of two different types of trams.

The acquisition is part of the first-time equipping of the Ruskeasuo tram and bus depot. The construction of the Ruskeasuo tram and bus depot is underway and the main contractor is Skanska. The depot will be completed in 3/2024. The installation of the wheel lathe and wheel measuring device should take place no earlier than 6/2024. The wheel lathe must be available for reception with all testing and adjustment periods and user training no later than 16.5.2025.

The wheel lathe and wheel measuring device must comply with Finnish and EU laws as well as the requirements and regulations of the customer and the authorities. All equipment supplied must have suitable environmental durability.

The products must comply with the contract, be fit for the agreed purpose and function as agreed. The Supplier is responsible for ensuring that the products meet the requirements specified in the contract and the jointly agreed specifications in writing. If the determination conflicts with the requirement, the determination shall prevail.

Tenderers have been reserved the opportunity to visit the equipment turned on the lathe. There is a maximum limit of 2 participants per bidder. The bidder must agree on a visit by e-mail with Santeri Hietanen santeri.hietanen@kaupunkiliikenne.fi.
