Natuurmonumenten will implement various measures in the N2000 area Fochteloërveen to ensure and improve nature quality. One of these measures is the removal of woody storage (hereinafter referred to as storage) in VAK - D. By removing the storage, Natuurmonumenten eliminates dehydration and forestation. This preserves nitrogen-sensitive habitat types in line with the objectives set out in the Natura 2000 Management Plan.

The work mainly consists of:

• Storage sheets and grubbing, including partial processing or draining

• Tree sheets and rings, including processing

• Additional work

The assignment consists of removing storage and additional work such as tree felling. The removal of the storage includes the removal, transport and processing of the material that is released. The storage consists mainly of birch and blueberry. The total area of VAK—D is approximately 395 hectares. Storage will be removed within approximately 286 hectares.
