The extension of the U6 Martinsried refers to an approximately 1 km long new line of the subway (BOStrab building) as an extension of the existing U6 Klinikum Großhadern.

The newly constructed structure of the U6 extension includes the construction of a new underground tunnel, which includes the line tunnel including a storage facility for two trains, Martinsried station, the emergency exit structures and the pumping station. The section extends over a length of approximately 972 m.

The construction area is located on the outskirts of Munich. The project area is divided into three areas. West of the street Am Klopferspitz north and south of the planned underground station are the teaching and research area of the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität, the Max Planck Institute and the Innovation and Start-up Center for Biotechnology. To the east are a Bannwald in the south and a biotope in the north, which separate the city of Munich from the municipality of Planegg. To the east on Elisabeth-Stoeber-Straße is the Klinikum Großhadern.

The construction of the civil engineering structure is mainly carried out in open construction with partly. stiffened or back-anchored bored pile shoring and inner shell. Martinsried station will be built in exposed concrete quality.
