Invitation to tender for integrated project support services for the implementation of groundwater and soil remediation measures

The GESA site is located at Köpenicker Landstraße 297 in 12437 Berlin, in the district of Berlin Treptow-Köpenick and has been used as an industrial property since about 1871, mainly by chemical industrial companies.

According to the production history, various pollutants were released into the soil, groundwater and sewage system at the site due to accidents, handling losses and war damage. Since 1992, a systematic investigation of the damage situation has been carried out. It was worked out that the property poses an acute threat to the water catchments of the Johannisthal waterworks, in particular by cyanides and arsenic. Since the mid-1990s, targeted safety and remediation measures have been and are being carried out to protect the water intakes. In addition to the removal of damage source areas in the ground, facilities and buildings, and the implementation of structural safety measures, a hydraulic safety measure of the entire damage area was installed by means of a well gallery along the Köpenicker Landstraße and the Schnellerstraße to protect the water intakes, which is still in operation today. Surface sealing and GW protection are ordered measures by the competent regulatory authority.

BVG is the tenant of the 4.3-hectare GESA site south of the Minna-Todenhagen Bridge and is planning to build a bus station for an electric bus fleet there. The surface sealing of the GESA property will be integrated into the BVG's post-use planning.

In order to guarantee GESA's obligations in the planning and execution process, GESA provides the BVG with a planning supervisor. This is intended to ensure the implementation of the measures ordered and the special requirements associated with the site with regard to the specific nature of contaminated sites.

Due to the exposed location of the property (Spree crossing and motorway connection; public design of the riverside path on the Spree) and the plans of the BVG for the development of the location, the location is to be subjected to further targeted security and renovation measures. From ggw. The following measures are planned:

- Terrain profiling and infrastructural measures

- Surface sealing and sealing measures

- safeguards and remediation measures for groundwater, and

- Continuation of groundwater monitoring.

The implementation of the above-mentioned Measures should be coordinated, initiated, accompanied and controlled by a competent project supervisor. As a result of this VgV procedure, services are to be awarded for project support for hazard prevention measures soil and groundwater as well as for technical advice on surface sealing/sealing measures.
