The city of Nuremberg is planning to close the gap in the tram in Minervastrasse between the existing tram reversing loop in Dianastrasse and the junction at Minervastrasse / Finkenbrunn / Julius-Loßmann-Strasse. In February 2020, the Transport Committee of the City of Nuremberg basically approved the measure and commissioned the administration to advance further planning. The funding opportunities were clarified in advance with the government of Middle Franconia. The new tram tracks must be laid out and the stops planned. The existing street cross-sections of Dianastraße and Minervastraße must be adapted accordingly, as well as the intersections in the route section. As part of a feasibility study, a rough preliminary plan has already been drawn up that can be used as a basis. The estimated total project costs amount to approx. EUR 20 million (net).
