The intervention is taking place at the Brennilis nuclear power plant, located in the Finistère department, on the Monts d'Arrée site (SMA). Called EL4-D, this installation (INB 162) is an industrial prototype of a nuclear power plant moderated by heavy water and cooled by carbon dioxide (70 MWe), definitively shut down in 1985.
The service is part of the so-called "Vessel" dismantling package of the Brennilis power plant project
It concerns the dismantling of all the activated structures of the Brennilis reactor (excluding the metal inserts), including the axial and lateral screens, the vessel, the fuel channels, and the control rods
The service is part of the so-called "Tank" dismantling package of the Brennilis power plant project.

The service includes:
1) Carrying out design and execution studies for all operations
2) Design, development, qualification of:
- Remotely operated resources working on balconies,
- Aft area for maintenance and decontamination,
- Bar treatment hood (hood renovation in 2010)
3) On-site installation work:
- Installation of the rear area (maintenance and decontamination area) in 402 / 403 for remotely operated means,
- Creation of openings in the BR 404 wall (access to balconies) and installation of flame protection doors,
- Installation of remotely operated means in the aft area + cockpit installed outside ER,
- Installation of the 657 process hood,
- Installation of a workshop for the packing of the insulation (because it is not treated by the CDI)
- Other facilities, workshops, equipment necessary for operations
4) Operation (+ maintenance level 1 to 3) of installations/equipment developed in the context of other contracts:
- CDI/EIDI developed by CENG: conditioning cell and buffer storage of irradiant waste
5) Structural dismantling and waste conditioning => Work prescribed in 2 x 8
- Balcony equipment: CO2, D2O, H2O tubing, casing, insulation, extensions
- Control rods, wells and casing tubes (via process hood)
- Tank and screens
- Cemetery canals and false canals.
- Reconditioning of swords and sword shells stored in PB400 boxes into waste in room 130
- Dismantling of room 253 and vertical piping (in contact)
- Dismantling of room 288 and fuel evacuation machines (in contact)
6) Pullback from the construction site
Issues are at the heart of the Company's oversight of the Holder's performance.
The main holdings are:
• Control of radiological risk: highly irradiated environment, supposed alpha contamination of certain equipment.
• Control of the fire risk and in particular with regard to the pyrophoricity of zircaloy.
• Control of the schedule, as the operations subject to the contract are on the critical path of the project
• Waste management: control of the production of waste packages (including induced and technological) and control of the conformity of packages (DeD, filling, transport regulations, etc.),
• The definition of remotely operated means adapted to the operations to be carried out.
• The operation/maintenance of equipment and facilities made available to the holder:
o Teleoperation Waste Conditioning Workshop (CDI / EIDI),
o bar handling hood,
o C4 robots if option is up
