Main frame has been in use by the Police for a long time and applications and infrastructure function satisfactorily. The main frame platform based on GCOS8 and IDS/II is not strategic for the Police for many reasons and shall therefore be phased out. There are currently a number of applications on the mainframe and only one of them is not included in the migration plan. This application was developed in Cobol and it is the intention that it shall continue to be in Cobol after the migration. The objective of the procurement is to migrate this application from the man frame environment to, for example, a LINUX environment in the police's own computer centre.

The procurement comprises migration of STRASAK from main frame (GCOS8-IDS/II-Cobol) to an open solution, for example, Linux-SQL-Cobol. Typical activities will be planning, converting, testing, commissioning and completion of database and application with the use of competence, tools and methods that the tenderer has good experience with.
