The Saxony-Anhalt State Flood Protection and Water Management Agency (LHW), Genthin River Area, is planning further renovation of the right Elbe dike - km 11.7 to 12.5. The dike section to be renovated has a total extension length of 800 m. The old dike should be preserved as far as possible and will therefore only be removed on the surface. It is reinforced and extended by the following sub-measures:

- installation of sheet piling as a deep foundation,

- adaptation of landside embankment,

- landside berm,

- dyke crown fastening/ dyke defense path (DVW),

- Entertainment/business trail on the landside berm.

On the land side (polder side), a berm with an entertainment/farm path must be added throughout. The embankment extension that has already been produced must be further reinforced with the construction of the berm and the planned crown increase.

In principle, existing flood protection systems are only accessible to a limited extent, the crown fastening currently consists exclusively of

a combination of

- unbound construction,

- concrete slabs as well as

- various paving options.

The existing flood protection systems - here crown fortification and landside embankment including the existing agricultural path

- are to be dismantling. The new path on the top of the dike will have asphalt construction fortification and the landside berm in concrete construction.

Dike rehabilitation HWSB Schartau dike km 11.5 - 12.5 over a length of 800 m

- dismantling of existing dike crown fastening (DVW) made of various materials NPP 2,300 m²,

- dismantling of existing maintenance lane, concrete track 2,580 m²,

- Delivery and installation of steel sheet piling 6,000 m²

- delivery and installation of support body material 27.750 m³,

- Production of DVW in asphalt construction 2,720 m²,

- making entertainment path, concrete track 790 m

- Production of entertainment path in concrete construction 310 m².
