The town hall Rödental was built between 1975 and 1977, in the course of the merging of the communities forming today's town of Rödental. It is the first component of a framework planning for a city center to be created at that time, which has actually developed in recent years around the Bürgerplatz. The town hall with the town hall and the adjacent Franz-Goebel-Halle is the most important public building in the city of Rödental. It is not only an administrative centre, but also offers space for a public library and rooms for clubs and events.
With the energetic renovation of the Franz-Goebel-Halle from 2009 to 2010, the renovation of the town hall hall and the barrier-free conversion of the town hall access from 2017 to 2018, measures have already been taken to secure existing buildings and improve usability and energy quality. The actual town hall has only benefited from this in the form of a new reception area, the elevator and a second structural escape route.
In the course of the planning services to be awarded, the foundation stone for a sustainable renovation of the town hall building is to be laid. In addition to improving the energy quality and eliminating damage and inadequacies, it is planned to adapt the space program and the spatial organization to the changed requirements in the administrations. The integration of the municipal utilities into the town hall is intended on the one hand to facilitate the close cooperation between the energy supplier and the city administration and on the other hand to improve the spatial working conditions of the municipal utilities themselves.
