The Hanseatic and University City of Rostock, represented by the Civil Engineering Office, intends to replace the Bw 121, bridge in the course of the Rennbahnallee over the DB line 6921 due to deficits in the area of load-bearing capacity and durability as well as due to the high age of the building.
Currently, the bridge structure is under the construction load of the civil engineering office. It runs the traffic system road including the footpaths and cycle paths of the civil engineering office as well as a track of the tram (RSAG) over the 3-field bridge structure made of reinforced concrete.
The bridge is located in the damming position in the course of the Rennbahnallee and crosses both the non-electrified, single-track DB line 6921 from Wismar to Rostock Hbf. and a connecting path within the Rostock Zoo. Immediately south of the bridge is the confluence of the road "Tannenweg" to the west.
After the demolition of the existing bridge structure, the civil engineering department plans to erect a road bridge and a directly adjacent tram bridge as replacement new structures at the same location.
The road bridge is to receive a tramway with one lane in each direction of travel as well as a pedestrian and cycle path to the east and a cycle path to the west.
With this award, the Civil Engineering Office intends to award the relevant static test engineering services.
