The subject of this tender procedure is the new construction of the reserve gate (lot 3) of the Great Sea Lock Emden as part of the overall project for the repair of the Great Sea Lock Emden.
The Große Seeschleuse in Emden is the main access road to the Emden inland port. It was built between 1907 and 1913 and went into operation in 1913. Extensive investigations of the entire building took place in 1982/83 and most recently in 2016/17 by a building main inspection.
The last basic renovation, which was to guarantee safe operation for another 25 years, was carried out between 1992 and 1999.
As a result of the main structural inspection from 2016/2017 and taking into account the new flood protection requirements, the client prepared a ready-to-execute repair plan (implementation planning with verified static calculation). This essentially includes the repair of the heads, including the hydraulic steel construction and the drive technology. During the execution, the direct dependencies and interfaces of the component groups solid construction of the heads, lock gates, drive cars, undercarriages and, above all, the door rails with repair of the floors and sills must be taken into account. The entire construction project must be carried out during the ongoing operation of the sea lock and while maintaining public transport. The construction phases, components or groups of components were divided into individual blocks due to their spatial and functional relationships. The details can be found in the tender documents.
The aim is to completely restore the functionality of the lock and to adapt it to future flood protection requirements. The repair is intended to ensure safe operation with high plant availability for at least the next 35 years.
The subject of this tender procedure is the construction of the new reserve gate for the Great Sea Lock Emden as well as other services at the interfaces to other lots in accordance with the tender documents.
