British Antarctic Survey has an on-going requirement for heavy duty cargo sledges to support its operations In the Antarctic, and in particular, to be used on scientific research projects involving deep field traverse operations. It is anticipated that up to a maximum of 16 cargo sledges will be purchased for deployment in Antarctica over the duration of the contract due to the complexity of operations and the environmental challenges, the cargo sledges are required to be safe and highly reliable to operate in antarctic conditions. Hence should be designed for extreme cold weather and manufactured to a very high standard.
