As an agency of the Flemish government, Toerisme Vlaanderen is responsible for the implementation of the Tourism policy document and the associated decretal tasks. Toerisme Vlaanderen has a vision and strategy based on this policy document (2019-2024) and the principles of 'Travel to Tomorrow'.
Toerisme Vlaanderen aims (vision) to strengthen the positive power of tourism so that Flanders can flourish (flourish) as an innovative, inspiring and qualitative travel destination for the benefit of its inhabitants, visitors and entrepreneurs.
The themes on which Toerisme Vlaanderen focuses are heritage experience, Flanders of course!, culinary heritage and future, Flanders cycling country, conferences and events, and everyone deserves a holiday.
For the theme 'Heritage experience', the aim is to put Flanders on the international map as an attractive destination for heritage experience. We work around five storylines: Flemish Masters in their historical context, castles and gardens, religious heritage, urban heritage and the Great War.
Tourism Flanders has started several redevelopment projects as part of its mission. These projects must bring added value for (international) visitors, residents and entrepreneurs/employees.
The object of this assignment is to provide services as project leader with a view to the repurposing of religious heritage sites managed by Toerisme Vlaanderen.
Project-based support of the objectives of Toerisme Vlaanderen to strengthen the positive power of tourism and to allow Flanders to flourish is also part of this assignment.
