The proposals currently envisage a single building (gross internal floor area estimated to be approximately 100,000 square feet) to provide teaching, administrative and workshop areas, a refectory and meeting and staff rooms. External works will include provision of new car parking and hard and soft landscaping to the area around the building. The contractor will develop the design of the building and deliver it under a design and build form of contract with bespoke amendments.
The College has identified its preferred site for the new building. Existing buildings on the site will be demolished by another party in time to give the contractor access to the site in the first half of 2014. The College wishes to move into the new facilities in the first half of the 2015/16 academic year.
The College's decision to proceed with this procurement will depend on the outcome of a planning application.
