A complete ICP-MS system shall be procured for analysis of elements in human biological materials (full blood, plasma / serum, urine) at the Department of Medical Biochemistry, Unit for special analyses, OUS Ullevål. The instrument must be able to analyse aluminium (plasma), lead (full blood), cadmium (full blood and urine), copper (plasma and urine), quicksilver (full blood and urine), selenium (plasma) and zinc (plasma and urine). The instrument must have the capacity for a significant increase in the number of analyses (currently a total of approx. 5 000 analyses per year), and it must be possible to expand the analysis repertory with multiple elements and other biological materials.
