As part of the modernisation of Appenzeller Bahnen (AB), a new Service Centre (SZ) is to be built. In the new service centre, a track for the car wash and three tracks for the maintenance of the rolling stock with mechanical workshop and offices and storage rooms will be built in the transport building (VER). The infrastructure building (INF) will house an electrical workshop, a locksmith's shop, pallet and small parts warehouse, vehicle adjustment and parking as well as cloakroom, lounge and office space. In an additional building, the outbuilding (NEB), are the cold room storage for materials and vehicles, the disposal, the transformer and rectifier station and a sand silo. An external storage facility in the area of the siding is also planned for the specialist services track and catenary.

In the present procurement, the partial services buildings are put out to tender in the form of underlays.
