The contract shall ensure the institute's need for acquisition and processing of data from the latest generation of polar orbiting meteorological satellites. The satellites use X-band for data transition, and observe and send more data to the local data acquisition station than earlier. It is therefore necessary to procure equipment before the old equipment is phased out. The new equipment shall be able to support the old satellites generation. The tender includes antenna with control system, as well as a processing unit that can deliver data in an internationally recognised raw format. This shall be used for further processing independent from the acquired system.
