This offer of print services in relation to electoral cards constitutes one of three tenders, which together will expose KMD's services to competition and replace KMD's services in relation to the electoral system, as well as the printing and distribution of electoral cards for Danish elections.

All municipalities have undertaken to procure each of the three services through a single contract and to be represented to the suppliers via KOMBIT.

As a starting point, the contract covers the five nationwide electoral types, municipal elections, regional council elections, parliamentary elections, European Parliament elections and referenda as well as any individual municipal referendums, and the printing task includes printing electoral cards for these elections.

A framework agreement has been chosen, the number of elections being only partially known. Municipal and regional council elections are scheduled every four years and European Parliament elections are held every five years, but parliamentary elections and referendums are called by the Prime Minister or by the individual municipalities according to the rules for this.
